We
are an Approved Provider to East Sussex County Council and members of
the United Kingdom Home Care Association. We
offer a comprehensive 24-hour home care service in the client's own home
tailored to the specific needs of each individual client. We aim to
provide a totally professional, responsive home care service to all of
our clients, to respect their race, religion and cultural background,
and to help them live as comfortably and independently as possible. We
cover an area from Peacehaven in the west to East Dean in the east and
as far north as the A27.
Given
the choice, nearly everyone would prefer to live in their own home
instead of leaving familiar surroundings and moving into residential
care. Handy Helpers is now making that choice a realistic option for the
elderly and people with disabilities who wish to remain in their own
homes as long as reasonably possible. We
assess each client's needs in full consultation with the client, their
family or friends and other relevant services. We will then recommend a
totally integrated package of care and support tailored to the
client’s needs. Our
own skilled carers work closely with doctors, district nurses, Social
Services and other professionals, as well as the client's family and
friends. By complementing these essential services and concerned carers,
we can provide a flexible, integrated service that helps to support the
client in their own home. |

Few things in life are more
comforting for the elderly than the simple pleasures of their own home.
Sometimes all it takes is a bit of extra help to make staying at home
possible even for those who are frail or ill. One
of the most common needs of elderly people is assistance with personal
care and toileting. Relying on family or friends for these needs can be
very distressing and can often result in unnecessary discomfort for all
concerned. However, if the elderly client has the option of calling
Handy Helpers, this situation can be avoided. Our professional carers
can respond at short notice to take care of any requirements, whether
it's for personal care or other needs. Handy
Helpers is not a medical service we do not administer medical services,
including the application of dressings, catheter care, giving drugs by
injection or supervising any specialist medical treatments. Should any
of these services be required, we will contact the appropriate
professionals. Caring
for an elderly member of the family or a person with some form of
disability can often be 24-hour a day job. The carer may find it
difficult to have any kind of social life, especially if they are
looking after a spouse on their own. Even whole families can be trapped
in a cycle of dependency when the cared for member of the family can
never be left alone.

We
carry out some of the types of duties that many other domiciliary care
providers cannot. This can be anything from doing the shopping or
providing meals to a full live in package or even terminal care. Our
service is personalised to each client. We
have extensive experience of working with solicitors who are acting as
Power of Attorney and can run the live of those who have no family
member or friend who is able to provide this sort of care. We
ensure that all staff are fully trained and supported so that they
provide the high level of service we demand. The directors of the
business take a personal interest in every client. If
you are interested in care work, for elderly frail or disabled people,
working in their homes then contact us for more information. See the
next page for contact information For an informal discussion with one of our experienced Care Managers please telephone or alternatively you can email us direct on info@handy-helpers.co.uk or fill in the email form below. We will respond to you as quickly as possible but certainly within 12 hours. Our office is open from 8 am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We also operate an emergency out of hours service for clients.
